Lose Weight Rowing On The Concept 2 Rower

“Lose Weight Rowing On The Concept 2 Rower”

Guys,  today we are talking about something that is actually very near and dear to my soul because it’s the background that I come from.   It’s talking about weight loss and rowing, and it’s kind of this big picture discussion. This one gets into more talk than merely rowing and it’s a really important discussion to have.  Particularly for people who are considering losing weight or who are in a locate where they would like to lose weight.  Now, I don’t claim to be a weight loss expert.  It’s not my expertise, but I have worked with a lot of clients through weight loss and privately.     So, that’s why I felt like it was a really important topic to discuss.

Your Mindset

Now, before we even talk about the notion of rowing when it comes to weight loss.  One of the most important things that you can really do for yourself.  If you are in this locate where you feel the need to lose weight.     Whether it’s because a doctor said to, or whether it’s just a personal selection.  And you feel like you’re at that place.  You need to understand that one of the greatest snags to moving through a stage of weight loss, is the mental ingredient that comes with it.

Your Support Group

There are a lot of internal struggles that we face on a daily basis.  Some that we are not able to even understand what we are going through.  And I have worked with so many people and deemed countless people’s hands.  They didn’t even realize that there was anything happening inside that they needed to deal with.  So, its quite clear that going into this process, it’s really important for you to have parties around you that will support  you and what you are doing.  And also, parties that won’t just tell you “yes” all along the way. It’s really all-important that there are people who will ask you hard themes, and that will inspire you to talk to them, and help you verbalize those circumstances which are scared or even ashamed of.   Consider even for yourself, because we’ve gotten so good at kind of compressing  them down.

First And Foremost

So number one, made to ensure that you have various kinds of that mental aspect reported and open up to somebody about it.  For God’s sake, open up to somebody.  You need to have somebody by your side. You need to have a partner going through it with you.

Number two, is nutrition.  And I wish I could say that fitness was the most significant case of the perplex.  But nutrition actually comes next and it deals  with  the different phases of weight loss.  You need to make sure that you’re getting good nutrition into your body.

Now, that doesn’t mean that you need to be buying organic, and buying expensive groceries. It precisely means that matters of substance that you’re putting in, needs to be of positive tone. So, when we’re talking about this, it’s not that you have to go buy the very best nutrients in the world at Whole Foods.

It means  educate yourself about nutrition.   If that entails receiving a nutritionist, then great, go find a nutritionist.  But understand that nutrition really is one of the larger pieces of the dilemmas, and finally when we are going to the rowing ingredient.

Rowing is a splendid effort for weight loss for  a couple of reasons.  But number one, the machine can manage up to 500 pounds.  Which is more than enough for most people.  And then number two, it reduces affect, because there is no impact on the joints, or little impact on the joints.  So, if somebody who has a lot of weight lose decides to go jogging, every day.  It’s not gonna be long before their joints start to hurt from all of that stress  they’re creating on the surface.  But, when we can take that and put it  into both horizontal and a vertical motion.  On this  machine, and reduce influence, it makes  it much easier on your body.

How to Use The Rower Effectively

Now, once we have that supported, formerly we’ve understood why it’s great for us.  What can we do to actually use the machine for weight loss.  Well, we always want to make sure that we start on a nice easy basis.  You don’t wanna day one, jump into 60 instants of exercising, because from various reasonableness. Mentally, it’s going to be fatiguing and you’ll maybe get very sick of rowing very soon, because it’s going to be overwhelming to you.

Number two, is that you want to build up this tolerance, you crave your form to ripen and memorize and get comfy moving again. If we’ve been living a sedentary lifestyle, So, when it comes to rowing, you want to start with low-volume,  right.   Spend a bit of time on the machine and then get use to it.  At first maybe fifteen or twenty minutes,  and consider that your workout for the day.

Set Realistic Goals

Rome wasn’t built in a day, as well as, weight that’s been gained, didn’t all happen in one day.  So loosing  that weight, isn’t gonna happen all in one day. So, we wanna make sure, we start with low-volume.  Slowly, add to your routine .  I would say, no more than five days a few weeks of exercising.  Make sure that you’re getting proper rest, every day to allow your body to perfectly recover.  So, gradually add volume.  Formerly you’ve added, once you’ve been able to work up to perhaps 20 hours of work outs, altogether,  with residue in there, so maybe you have 20 min of rest and 5 min of workout.  Now we can start computing some strength.  So now start throwing in some intense workouts. So when you start, maybe you row for five minutes and then you’re off for five minutes. Then your second exercise, you might sequence for five minutes, off for five minutes, back on for five minutes, and all at an easy pace, just starting to move again.

Once we’ve finished the epoch three and epoch four , then we start getting to 20 instants and 25 minutes, building onto it. And once we affect that 20 minute trace, maybe we start going a little bit more aggressive. Perhaps we back down to five minutes, but now we introduced some more power into those apoplexies that we’re taking inside of that five minutes. So gradually be playing, as well as adding magnitude, computing severity, lending a little more loudness, and then adding a little more ferocity.  As your mass starts to adjust and adapt to this, go back and forth, to the new motion that you’re starting to provide.

And as always, you want to make sure that you specify mixture.  That is why we talk about this work and ferocity, backward and forward. You want to ensure that you don’t get burned out on what you’re doing or on the rowing machine. You wanna think of it as a tool for your goals. It’s not the end-all be-all, it’s a tool to help you get to where you wanna vanish. So keep mixture in your workouts, find workouts that continue to pastime you, and always come back to those three pillars: flow, mindset, and nutrition. Keeping all three of those working in your weight loss process. Nonetheless, the rowing machine is a phenomenal tool as you are choosing to go down this path, and through this life of weight loss, are well aware that I’m here to support you, and know that a lot of beings are here to cure contain you paw and foot you through this process.

If you have any thoughts or input on this topic id love to hear from you.  I hope you enjoyed this post.  Plz leave your comments below thx!

Stamina Body Trac Glider

Stamina Body Trac Glider

If you are working with a budget but you still want to get the max “bang for your buck” then we say go for the Stamina Body Trac Glider .  There are quite a few different reasons for this and we will explore them below but first let us have a look at the main features of this popular rowing machine:

Home rowing machine with compact footprint–23.5 x 46 inches

Adjustable gas-shock resistance

Monitor shows time, stroke count, and calories burned

Sturdy, steel frame construction

Folds for easy storage

So we can see that although the price is low you still get a monitor which is awesome. Normally with a rowing machine that is this price you will not get the monitor, but with the Body Trac 1050 you get stroke count, time and calories burned so you can keep track of your progress.

Another awesome feature is the fact that it is tiny! Or at least quite small and you will be able to use this indoors without needing a reinforced floor or a huge amount of room.

Of course once you have used it you can fold it up for easy storage.

Why Is The Stamina Body Trac Glider  1050,  The Best Choice On A Budget?

If you have just started rowing or you are giving it a try to keep fit you might not need something heavy duty just yet. Don’t get us wrong there ARE better options if you want to pay A LOT more but for the price this is very reasonable.

The Body Trac Glider only costs $122 at Amazon.com – in fact this is a HUGE saving as the normal price is closer to $230 so you are saving 47% off the RRP!

Best Feature Of All

The best feature however despite all of the above is the oar rowing arms!

Most rowing machines (even the pricey ones) will give you a T bar that you pull towards you but the Body Trac will give you arms on either side that allow you to actually ROW!

This is a MUST if you are a rower and if you are just doing this for fitness it still makes sense as you will work out the proper muscles in your arms and legs needed for rowing.

You also get 12 levels of resistance so it is good enough for light use or heavy duty stamina building!

If you are on a budget we give this product a 10/10!

Grab the Stamina Body Trac Glider  below and save a whopping 47% off of the purchase price!

So far, so good. I was a little upset that there weren’t any video reviews for this product, (youtube, from the company itself etc.) so I promised myself that I’d make a video demonstration for others to judge.

The basic stuff you need to know: There are 12 levels of resistance (I was using resistance level 8).

The computer tells you how many complete rows you have performed, time performed, calories burned or you can scan through all three (My computer didn’t work when it first arrived, but after a solid punch it woke up and started working). The resistance is nice. You’ll get a good workout with this inexpensive machine. Storage is convenient, but don’t be fooled, 35 pounds is heavy to move around from room to room. Keep the machine close to where you plan on using it. Read More At Amazon.com…

I have had this rower for a week now and it has been working great. The first rower I bought (a different brand of rower) broke down after 15 min of use, but the Stamina Body Glider is well built and very easy to use. The instruction booklet is very clear. It only took a few minutes to put the machine together.

The amount of resistance is adjustable and the machine is very quiet. The only noise you hear is from the shock absorber type device which provides the resistance. It looks and feels like a more expensive piece of equipment, but provides the same type of workout that those higher priced models provide. Read More At Amazon.com…

Stamina Air Rower

Stamina Air Rower

In this article we will be looking at the Stamina Air Rower which is our 3rd choice if you are looking for a good home rower. Obviously with a name like “air rower” you will find that this piece of equipment uses wind resistance while you are rowing so you can make your workout as easy or as difficult as you like.

This rower also gives you a monitor that has several functions including speed, distance, time and calories burned.

The seating is also padded and upholstered which is good as it is a must with a rower that you get a comfortable seat! You also get foot plates and they are ample for any size feet so you do not slip as you are working out.

Another really good feature for an indoor rower is that it is easy to assemble and disassemble and on this point the Stamina Air rower is very good as it gives you built in wheels so you can easily place it where you want, has floor protectors that will help prevent skidding and you just fold it up for storage when you have finished with it.

It has the standard T bar grip that is padded so is comfortable for long sessions.

The rower also comes with three year warranty on the frame and you get a 90 day warranty on the parts. This is well worth looking at as on most rowers the warranty for the main immovable frame will differ from the moving parts such as the monitor, however 90 days is still good for the price.

An interesting aspect of the rower is the way it computes the resistance that you would like. As it is wind resistance all you need to do is start rowing faster and it will put more resistance on while if you go at a slower pace it will take it off.

Here is a list of all of the features of the Stamina Air Rower:

Utilizes wind resistance for a smooth rowing stroke

Multi-function electronic performance monitor

Monitor displays: speed, distance, time, and calories burned

Padded, upholstered seat

Textured handgrips

Large footplates

Adjustable nylon foot straps

Nylon rowing strap

Over-sized, angled seat rail

Sturdy steel frame construction

Frame folds for storage

Built-in wheels for portability

Floor protectors prevent skidding

Assembled dimensions: 77 by 18 by 22 (L x W x H)

Folded dimensions: 48 by 18 by 28 inches (L x W x H)

Maximum user weight: 250 pounds

Some assembly required

Three-year frame warranty

90-day parts warranty

The Stamina Air Rower is easy to put together, price competitively and more importantly it does the job! It is an awesome rower that takes up a small amount of room and if you are just using this to get fit it is an awesome buy. However the customer views we had a look at said that it gives you more of an arm workout than a leg workout. So if you are using this in-between rowing sessions on the water you might want to check out our top pick.

All in all this rower is awesome for the price and for the easy storage – we give it a 7/10!

By Urban Hermit:

It’s easy to put together and works smoothly. The rower itself is decent, but depends on what you plan to use it for. If you are a beginning rower or plan to use it competitively or even to warm up before going out on the water, I would not recommend this product. Rowing is a leg sport and all the high end machines I’ve used are built with this in mind. This Stamina Air Rower however, had an issue with this concept; the resistance on the band didn’t kick in until I was into the last part of my stroke (the arms). The basic pattern of a stroke is legs, back, arms. Your legs are supposed to do the hardest work because they fatigue the least, but because of where the highest amount of resistance kicked in, my arms did the bulk of the work and I tired out way too quick. Read More At Amazon.com

I used this rowing machine every day for about 3 years and it’s still in excellent condition. I’m passing it on to a friend, since I now use other forms of exercise. I lost a lot of weight with this machine, so I highly recommend it. It gives a terrific, total body workout…tones all the muscles, gives good cardio exercise, and offers plenty of resistance. Read More At Amazon.com…

Stamina 1215 Orbital Rowing Machine

Stamina 1215 Orbital Rowing Machine

This article will tell you about the Stamina 1215 Orbital  Rowing Machine. We like to call this home rower a “budget REAL rower” what we mean by that is if you have looked at our review of the Concept 2 rower you will know that to get a real rowing action it can cost a lot of money. Of course the REAL rowing action is not strictly needed if you are just looking for something to get you in better shape at home.

However if you are looking to stay in shape as a rower you need the real rowing action to work the same muscle groups. Normally this will cost well over $500 but the Stamina 1215 Orbital Rowing Machine gives you this motion and it is under $300!

With the Stamina 1215 rower you get rowing arms and the resistance is hydraulic while the seat is padded and glides on a ball bearing system. The arms can be adjusted for resistance and you have foam grips that are comfortable and keep it stable.

This rower is also a winner if you are looking for a compact rower. It is only 23.5 x 48 inches and only weighs 47 pounds which is very light for a rower. For this reason we would recommend this rower if your workout space is small.

You also have a monitor that will show speed, distance, time, row count, calories burned and miles rowed. Another interesting feature with the Stamina 1215 Orbital Rowing Machine is that you can increase the beam incline if you are looking for a harder workout.

The foot plates can be secured easily and they also pivot which just means when you are using the rower it is a little bit more comfortable.

The rowing arms which obviously stick out a little when you are using the rower will fold in for easy storage. The warranty you get with the 1215 Orbital rower is fairly decent and you will get 5 years on the main frame and 90 days on the movable parts.

So all in all this makes for a good budget rower when you want a REAL rower action with the arms that move like real oars.

The one thing we would say to be careful of with the 1215 Orbital rower is that 90% of the reviews are decent but a few said that reliability was not that good. We would say if you are going to have to break the bank to get the Concept 2 and you NEED a rower with real action pick this up.

However for a few hundred dollars more you can get our top pick.

We rate this rower as 7/10 and that is only because there is a slight reliability issue apparent.

From Marquis:

We just assembled our new Stamina 1215 Orbital Rower. It took about an hour and a half. The machine feels pretty sturdy to me. Is it worth $279? Hard to say, but with everything so overpriced these days, who knows? The acid test is usually how long something lasts, so it will be worth the money if it gives several years of good service. I’ve done my first half hour of rowing and it’s a fairly smooth action and relatively quiet. On some sites, a few people complained that the lowest setting is too tough for beginners, and I agree. But you can set the arms even a little lower than the bottom number, and this helps. I’ve had two rowing machines in the past and this one is as good or better than they were. I like the ability to set the back of the bar up higher which aids in getting off and on the rower. Read More At Amazon.com…

After using this exercise machine for about a month (9 total exercise hours), I have found it is basically a good machine for the price. After 4 hours of use, one of the hydraulic shocks developed a “dead spot” at the start of the stroke. I called the Stamina toll free number for customer support. They sent out a replacement shock which seems to be working OK. Read More At Amazon.com…

Velocity Fitness Magnetic Rower

Velocity Fitness Magnetic Rower

In this article we are having a look at the Velocity Fitness Magnetic Rower which actually looks like a competitor to a top pick the Concept 2 rower. It is in the same price group and boasts loads of different features. All of the rowers that we have taken a look at so far feature different ways to provide the resistance while you are rowing.

If you are wondering why the price differs so much between each rower it comes down to how close the rowing action is to the real thing. Some of them will give you more of an upper body and arm workout which is awesome if you are rowing at home to keep fit. If you actually do row than it can be worth investing in a proper rower so you know that you are building up the muscle groups that you will need in the activity.

The Velocity Fitness Magnetic rower will give you drum magnetic control resistance and electronic tension control as well as an awesome feature in the way of a heart monitor that you strap to your chest while working out so you can monitor your heart rate.

The seat is made of PU mold plastic and is comfortable and the main beam or frame is Anodized Aluminium profile with rectangular tubing support.

While we were researching the Velocity Fitness Magnetic Rower for value we have come up with these main pros and cons when considering this piece of equipment:

Very quiet and the glide of the seat is super smooth and does not feel unsteady at any point.

Gives you a gruelling workout and within a few minutes you will be able to get your heart rate up to about 80% of max heart rate! In short if you are looking to burn fat this will help you out!

Bells and whistles – the heart rate monitor is an awesome touch and simply straps to your chest so as you are working out you can monitor your heart rate. You can also pick from six pre-programmed workouts which should suit all skill levels.

Nothing or at least there is nothing that is a set back with this rower. The only thing is this is not a flywheel rower like the Concept so it does not produce as much resistance but that is just a small point.

If you are looking for an awesome rower with a heart rate monitor and all of the bells and whistles for a professional workout this is the one. However the price point is getting up to the Concept so for a few hundred dollars you could go for the Concept and get our number 1 choice.

This is still an A class choice though!

We live in an area that doesn’t have a gym, so this is the first rowing machine any of us has used. Keeping that in mind, this is coming from a novice point of view.

The machine itself weighs about 90 pounds, and arrived needing assembly. All tools and materials were included, so it was just a matter of about 30 minutes to get the whole thing out of the box and assembled. The directions were clear and easy to follow. All pieces were made of heavy steel and the bolts were some of the biggest I have ever seen! The main part that houses the electronics has a plastic cover and is of a pleasing design and color.

When fully extended and ready for working out on, the unit measures about 7 feet. The manufacturer’s description said the unit can be folded for space saving when not in use. It does compact nicely, with measurements of 54″h x 34″d x 20″w and this is obtained by folding the unit up in front of the seat.

The unit seems to be of good quality. The seat is well padded and very comfortable and the handles are nicely padded and are comfortable to grip. The foot rests are adjustable and fit each member of our family nicely. The seat quietly and easily glides on the beam. Read More At Amazon.com…
